This week, we’ll be exploring the best apps for public relations professionals. In order to successfully complete this assignment, please:

  1. Research different free apps that public relations professionals would find helpful in their day-to-day work.
  2. Write a blog post on your website (not your mastery journal site, but your professional branding site) in which you review what you think is the best free app for public relations professionals. In your analysis of the app, including all of the following information:
    1. A title for your blog post that includes the name of the app you’re reviewing.
    2. A description of the app (written in your own words). This should identify the purpose of the app, summarize how it functions, and explain why it’s useful forP.R. professionals.
    3. Identification of whether the app is completely free and/or has multiple paid plans that offer different services.
    4. Identification of the best thing about the app.
    5. Identification of the worst thing about the app.
    6. Identification of whether the app can be used on both a computer and a mobile device (as well as the key differences between each interface, especially if such differences impact the app’s functionality).
    7. Two (2) pictures of the app that you personally took (e.g., a picture of the app as it appears on your mobile device and a screenshot of the app on your computer).
      1. Make sure the images are spaced out throughout your blog post.
      2. Make sure the images include captions that provide brief descriptions of the pictures and give you credit for taking the pictures.
  3. Citations to your sources – and to the app you’re reviewing – which should be listed in APA format.
  4. Your app review should be at least 400 words long.
  5. Using HootSuite, your Facebook Page Scheduler, and Later, schedule 4 social media comments to promote your blog post on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. Your comments should:
    1. Be engaging so that your followers are motivated to click on the link to your blog post (e.g., the post employs a question that your followers can only get the answer to by reading your blog post).
    2. Be specifically focused on engaging your target audience in a digital conversation.
    3. Be different on each social media platform (so that anyone who follows you on multiple social media platforms does not see the exact same post repeated multiple times).
    4. Include hashtags and/or tags of other people (if applicable).
    5. Be optimized in length to ensure your followers will read your post.
    6. Include a shortened link to your blog post.

6. Proofread your blog post and social media posts extraordinarily carefully to avoid grammatical, spelling, and typographical errors. There will be a 1-point deduction for each type of grammatical/typographical error that appears in your posts.
