Writing the Paper

  • Your paper should start with an introductory paragraph that describes your interviewee’s role and the organization as well as their background (education/formal training, previous jobs, etc.). (I have also attached my email memo that gives a little background information of Ms. Smith, my manager…)
  • Summarize and describe what you learned about how managers function, what helps them to do their jobs, what challenges they face, etc. Remember to address ALL 7 of the questions that were required for this assignment, as described in Week 3
  • In your concluding paragraph, synthesize and summarize what you learned from the interview.
  • Compare your paper to the rubric and follow-up with your interviewee for clarification on responses or to obtain answers to questions that were not fully answered.

It’s important that you tie in your observations from the interview with the material that has been covered in class, or additional outside research you may have done on your own. Your paper should be written in APA format, double-spaced, using in-text citations, and include a title page, reference pages, and appropriate headings. Review the APA resources available in the Student Resource Center, as well as the sample paper (Links to an external site.)

Your paper should be approximately 3-5 pages, not counting the title page and reference pages.
