Steps:

Open Excel to create a new workbook.

Save the workbook file with the name ExcelYourFirstNameLastName. Save the file in your Documents folder for now. You do not need to type in the file extension. It will use .xlsx by default.

Enter the following information in cells A1 – C8. Do not copy and paste. Remember to save your file.

Ensure that all the information is visible within the column boundaries. This will require you to resize columns.

Add two new column labels to the right of the current columns; Unit Price and Total Sales. (They will be in columns D and E.)

The Unit Price is 12, so enter that value for all rows in Column D.

Calculate Total Sales (column E) as column C times Column D. You will type in a formula like this into cell E2:

=C2*D2

Press the Enter key. (Be sure to begin the formula with an equal sign). Remember to save your file.

Click in cell E9, calculate the sum of E2 though E8. You will type in a formula like this into the cell E9:

=SUM(E2:E8)

Press the Enter key. (Be sure to begin the formula with an equal sign). Remember to save your file.Change columns D and E to currency type so that the dollar sign is shown. There is an icon to quickly format the selected column as currency type.

Ensure that the data is all visible within the column boundaries. Make the columns wider if needed.

Center the data in all the cells (A1-E8) using the Center tool in the Alignment group on the Home Tab.

Add a border to all of the cells (A1-E8) using the Borders tool in the Fonts group on the Home Tab.

Bold the data in row 1, the column headings (ensure that the data all remains visible within the column boundaries). Remember to save your file.

Change the font color for row 1 to Blue.

Bold the data in cell E9

Save the workbook.
